Suppliers I love

I've been making soap for 15 years now, and I've seen some good and bad suppliers. These are the ones I love.

Lavender essential oil from Lebermuth and Beeswax from Jedwards

When I first started making soap, my favorite two places to buy supplies were Brambleberry and Wholesale Supplies Plus. They had pretty much everything I needed in one place.  Once I started selling my soaps, I purchased my oils and butters from Jedwards and my essential oils from Lebermuth since it's more cost effective. Lately, I've been getting my lye from Essential Depot.  I've also used The Lye Guy and Red Crown.  Owosso Graphics made my soap stamp and they have a great customer service for those of us who need help figuring out the ordering process. Digho designed my logo and prints my labels. Diane and Maria are two of the hardest working ladies I've met. I've also worked with them on labels for shower favors and private label customers.

I find keeping a gratitude list during the week helps keep me focused on the good things in my life.

These 2 dogs were so cute playing with each other

1. Getting interviewed on a radio station Saturday
2. Spending time with my dad on Father's Day
3. Watching one very large dog and one tiny dog check each other out
4. Finding out my number wasn't chosen for jury duty...yet
5. Online clothes shopping

Check out the bird nest inside my candle

1. My Dad's great 3 month checkup after his cancer treatment (No signs of recurrence!!)
2. An outside hanging candle that the birds decided to turn into a nest
3. Attending a bridal shower with some friends
4. The bunnies that were hopping and playing in my backyard
5. Maria, a customer who traveled from Queens to see me and buy soaps at an event

June Customer of the Month

Warren is the Alegna Soap Customer for June.

How long have you been using Alegna Soap products? What product is your favorite?
I’ve been using Alegna Product for over two years.  My favorite would be Lemongrass with scrub.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy boating, fishing and gardening in my spare time.

Do you watch sports? Which one? What is your favorite team?NASCAR is one of the televised sports that I enjoy watching although no one particular team is my favorite.

Do you have any pets?

I currently have tropical fish, but a puppy is in my future.

What is your favorite movie?  Movie star? What was the last movie you saw?

I don’t have a favorite movie, however I am a fan of all of Hitchcock’s work. I recently  watched  The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

Start a career as a neurosurgeon.

Describe your perfect day.

My perfect day would be sunny, 85 degrees, light wind, on my boat with my wife heading to a deserted beach with food drink and a fishing rod.

Tea or Coffee?

Tough choice… I enjoy both drinks equally. Do not make me choose.

Are you a morning or a night person?

What inspires you?

I am often inspired when I see something  beautiful that was made either by nature or by someone’s talented hands.

Gratitude List 6.3.13

My beautiful new soap mold

1. The beautiful weekend weather
2. My crock pot, in which I can throw food into in the morning, and come home to a hot dinner at night
3. My square, that gives me the ability me to accept credit cards at events, allowing me to make a sale when someone isn't carrying cash
4. The beautiful new mold my dad made for me so I can make a tall skinny soap
5. My new friend Michelle from Mossy Creek Soap, who gave me the idea for the mold.
