Gratitude List 4.22.13

The bombing in Boston this past week has me thinking that we are all just one phone call away from our knees. Life is so random, we never know what will happen one second to the next. This weeks list is a little somber.

1. Things are finally over in Boston.
2. My friends in the Boston area are all safe.
3. My faith, to help me through life's atrocities.
4. My legs, I can get up and walk.
5. My arms, I can type this, make soap, and hug my family.

Angela

My Gratitude List this week has a theme...getting where I need to be.

1 .My legs, they get me where I need to go.

2 .My car, also gets me where I need to go.

4. My parents, who taught me the direction to go in.

5. My husband, the one I want to travel with while I get there.

March Customer of the Month

Meet Emy, Alegna Soap's March Customer of the Month.

Emy

My name is Emily.  I am currently retired after working for 23 years in the child welfare field.  My husband and I have been married for 27 years (second marriages) and raised 4 sons together.  We have 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

I've been using Alegna soaps for at least 2 years and it is the only soap I use.

I really like to travel. Cruising is my travel of choice although my husband and I have been taking short bus trips. I also make candles in my spare time and spend time with my grand kids.

My husband and I are loyal Steelers fans.  We have attended games in Pittsburgh which have been great fun  Football is our favorite sport.

We have a miniature Dachshund called Hildegarde.

I loved the Rocky movies, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.  Also enjoy the Twilight movies.   My favorite though is Field of Dreams.

The last movie I saw was The Avengers.

My favorite actor is Brad Pitt.

I would run a marathon if I could without failing..

I am an A type, perfectionist, slightly compulsive and outgoing person.

I need coffee in the morning to get me going, and definitely I do my best work then  (morning person).

My perfect day would be sailing on a catamaran, snorkeling and lounging on the beach in the Caribbean.

I am inspired by people who unselfishly give of themselves to others, of which the greatest would be Jesus.

Yours in Gratitude,
Angela

3-Consignment and thrift shops.
4-Morning sunlight.
5-A bowl of hot soup for lunch on a cold day.

Gratitude List 2.5.13

The past few weeks have been difficult, my dad was diagnosed with cancer and in the hospital. During that time I tried to find five things I was grateful for each week. My dad is now home and things are slowly getting back to normal.  Focusing on what I was grateful for helped me get through that rough spot, and I decided to do it every week. So here are the things that happened this past week that I am grateful for.

The materials used to make my solid perfumes

1-My daughters 27th birthday..
2-My son came home for a visit.
3-The ceiling in my kitchen is fixed, I was able to put everything back where it belongs, and my house is organized again.
4-A new private label order.
5-Time over the weekend to play around and make myself some solid perfumes.

Please feel free to comment and/or make your own Weekly Gratitude List.

Yours in Gratitude,
Angela

My Dad - Part 2

Five things I am grateful for this week.

My sister and my dad.

1-All the friends, acquaintances and even strangers who prayed for my dad and my family.
2-A pathology report that says they got everything.
3-The skill of the entire surgical team that operated on my dad.
4-My two sisters, who I can depend on to share the joys, burdens and craziness of my family.
5-The Au Bon Pain in the lobby of the hospital, especially their chocolate croissants.

And today I am especially grateful for one more thing.  My dad comes home tomorrow.

My Dad is 80 years old. We found out a few weeks ago that he has kidney cancer.  Below is a list of what I am grateful for today.

1-My Dad's cancer is very small and his prognosis is excellent.
2-Other than that, my Dad is incredibly healthy.
3-My parents live nearby and my sisters and I am able to see them often.
4-My parents have a loving relationship and it shows.
5-My Dad's cancer is very small and his prognosis is excellent. (Did I mention that already?)

Thank you for saying a prayer for my Dad.

Yours in Gratitude,
Angela
